Conservative Fashions All Year Long!

The rule-of-thumb when considering conservative fashion can be summed up in three simple words "more is less" Conservative fashions ussualy include simple colors such as black, brown, blue and grey, while incorporating low key patterns and fabric cuts. Bellow you will see several examples of 2013's most conservative retailers including; Charles Tyrwhitt and Brooks Brothers.

Charles Tywhitt

Charles Tywhitt is a fine mens clothing shop primarily in the UK. Though Charles Tywhitt is relativly unpopular and "little known" in the United States, it is one of my absolout favorite clothing retailers and when it comes down to conservative fashion; it Can't be beat!

These are just a few examples of Charles Tywhitt's fine clothing! though many of his selections are quite costly the quality and style is outstanding and well werth the cost.

Brooks Brothers

Brooks brothers is one of America's oldest and most distinguished clothing retailers, although the prices may be a bit beyond common "reach" the quality, and brand is nearly the defanition of conservative fashion.

The Overcoat

The Overcoat is a traditional type of men's coat worn during the fall and winter months. the overcoat can come in several different styles and varieties. Including the Trench Coat, the Chesterfield coat, and the double breasted coat.

Overcoats can be purchased in three different lengths. the shortest length is the 1/2 length coat, which extends slightly below the waist. the next length is the 3/4 length coat, which extends to the knee. the final and longest length is the 'full lengh' which extends to the lower calf.

A Traditional sashed Trench coat.
Overcoats are often made of wool and polyester blend. the wool insulates the coat and provides warmth while polyester is used to keep the coat water resistant. More expensive overcoats can be composed of pure wool or Cashmere. On the inside of most overcoats, the coat is lined with silk or polyester, and may be insulated with down (a mixture of goose and duck feathers) or cotton.

The Overcoat is still very popular in modern fashion, and is worn all of the world by all typed of men and women. In a recent issue of GQ it was quoted that; "Buying an overcoat, is not just a purchase its a milestone" and I can honestly say that this statement cannot be any truer. An overcoat is not simply a piece of clothing, it's an emotional attachment similar to a childhood blanket

Overcoats are retailed in countless shops and in countless styles. Below are several links to websites where you may find a wide selection of overcoats for sale.

The Three Piece Suit

A classic 3 piece suit including matching jacket, pants and vest.
The three piece suit is a classic piece of men's clothing, The 3 piece suit has been worn throughout history all of the world. Unlike the  more commonly worn 2 piece suit, which is composed of pants and a jacket the three piece includes a vest or waistcoat. The 3 piece suit is considered to be much more formal than the 2 piece suit, and is often worn during formal occasions and events such as weddings. the Suit is also very popular amongst business men.

Though all pieces of the suit are usually matching. The vests are interchangeable, for instance a black suit may be worn with a grey vest. or a grey suit may be worn with a sweater vest cardigan. During formal occasions suits may be exchanged with silk waist coats or double breasted vests.

In Modern Fashion The three piece suit is considered to be extremely fashionable, and can be commonly spotted in the media. The increase in popularity has made the suit highly accessible, and a wide assortment are retailed in stores such as macy's and J.C Penny.

Below is a link and an example of one of the many 3 piece suits retailed by Paul Frederick

The Club Collard Shirt

A Club Collard Shirt Retailed By Designer Ralph Lauren, issued in his 'Polo' collection
The Club Collard shirt was a style of shirt made popular in the early 20th century, between 1915 and the late 1920's. The club Collar is often white in color and usually contrasts a darker color or pattern  such as blue or pinstripes. The Club Collar may also be referred to as a 'Rounded collar.'
A detachable Club Collar, from the 1920's.
Though the popularity of the Club collard shirt has faded, the shirt style is slowly making a come back in modern fashion. Many high end retailers such as Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers are now retailing the shirts. Glimpses of the shirt may also be found in many magazines and articles such as GQ and Esquire. The shirt is often worn with thin neckties between 2 and 3 inches in diameter. Because the Club Collars lengh is usually short larger neckties create an undesired "bulge." in the collar band.

I personally believe that club Collard shirts are a unique yet moderately conservative way to express a flair of fashion independence. Though the shirt may not be appropriate for
professional work enviorments, the Shirt is perfect for a Sunday Church service or a Friday night date.

Below Are several Examples of Club Collard shirts currently retailed by: Lands End, Paul Frederick and Ralph Lauren.
